The Digby & Area Board of Trade is pleased to announce the formation of an advocacy committee.
Being that Boards of Trade and Chambers of Commerce speak for the voices of business, this committee will be looking to get feedback from our business and to take those voices to various levels of government and also to the Atlantic Chamber of Commerce as well as the Canadian Chamber of Commerce. Dan White has been appointed by the Board of Directors to be the Chair of this committee. Dan brings extensive experience in advocacy work and will spearhead this committee. Digby & Area Board of Trade is proud to partner with the Digby Pines Golf Resort & Spa in presenting a dinner and night of Scottish celebration for the national Poet of Scotland, Robbie Burns on Saturday, February 04-2023. The event, a fund-raiser for the Digby General Hospital Auxiliary and Fundy Hospice, will take place at Digby Hall. More than 200 years after his death (born 25 Jan. 1759) Burns’ legacy lives on and Robbie Burns Day (January 25) remains more celebrated worldwide than Scotland’s own national holiday, St. Andrew's Day.

The Digby Shell celebrated their 20th year on December 22, 2022!
Congratulations! Hard to believe that this used to be the spot of a little two pump gas station and now customers have seven pumps to choose from. Thank you for dedicating 20 amazing years of service to our town. We wish you another 20 years to come. Congratulations to Wilson's Bowling Center who celebrated their 60th year in business last Friday, September 16th. What an accomplishment!
Bowling is a great way to get some exercise, as it can burn more than 200 calories an hour, and also uses and builds 134 muscles, improving your balance, and increasing your hand-to-eye coordination. All this while having fun. What more could you ask for!! We want to extend our gratitude to Lori Prentice-Van Luven of East Coast Sirens, for her role as treasurer. It has been great having her as a member of our team, we appreciate her valuable contributions. The only thing constant is change and Lori's changes requires her to focus on other things including her business of East Coast Sirens. We have not lost Lori as she will continue with DABT as a valuable member.
We would like to welcome Dan White of Tax Audit Solutions as our new treasurer. Dan brings a wealth of experience to the role including having over a decade of having been an active part of a Chamber of Commerce. As a leader on their advocacy committee Dan was well respected for his advocacy work on tax fairness for small business. |
